Indian Head Woman Arrested for Passing Counterfeit Travelers Checks


On Jan. 17 at 10:25 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to BB&T Bank at 10579 Theodore Green Boulevard in White Plains for the report of a person attempting to cash counterfeit travelers checks. Investigation revealed Rhonda Gwynette Oliver, 43, of Indian Head attempted to pass two counterfeit $500 Master Card travelers checks. Further investigation revealed Oliver had successfully passed 10 counterfeit travelers checks on two previous occasions and had subsequently received $5,000 in cash. She was charged with theft scheme more than $500, theft more than $500, attempted theft more than $500, passing a forged public document and uttering and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
