Serious Crash on Little Cove Point Road

On 12/16/05 at 6:45 p.m., Deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to Little Cove Point Road in the area of Park Chesapeake for the report of a motor vehicle crash. The first deputies on the scene requested that the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) respond to the scene due to the severity of the injuries to the occupants of the at fault vehicle.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 1992 Honda operated by Nicholas Przybyla was traveling north along Little Cove Point Road. A Ford Expedition, occupied by Paul and Greta Hartman and their two children, of Lusby, was traveling southbound on Little Cove Point Road when Przybyla’s vehicle entered their traffic lane and collided with their vehicle.

Przybyla and his passenger were flown from the scene of the crash. Przybyla was flown to Prince George’s Shock Trauma where he was treated and released. The 17 year-old female was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma where she is listed in critical condition. The Hartmans were transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released.
