Man Nabbed Leaving Home Depot w/o Paying for Tools


On Nov. 18 at approximately 10:15 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to Home Depot at 12050 Jefferson Farm Place in Waldorf for the report of a theft. Investigation revealed Sean Clifton Ford, 26, of Waldorf entered the store and placed several drills and other items in a cart.

Ford attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. A loss prevention employee attempted to detain Ford but Ford ran back through the store. Ford returned to the exit and pushed another employee to get past the exit. The loss prevention employee apprehended Ford and detained him for police.

Officers arrived, arrested Ford and recovered all of the stolen items except for three drills an accomplice is believed to have stolen. The accomplice, a female acquaintance of Ford's fled the scene when loss prevention apprehended him and will be charged at a later date.

Ford is charged with theft of more than $500 worth of property and second degree assault. The employee who was assaulted was not injured. Officer J. Timko is investigating.
