Calvert Sobriety Checkpoint Nets Several Arrests

Cpl. Anthony Moschetto conducted a Sobriety Checkpoint on H.G. Trueman Rd. in Lusby on Saturday, Sept. 24. At 5:46 p.m. he stopped a vehicle for failure to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic and detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver of the vehicle. Cpl. Moschetto administered several field sobriety tests and determined that the driver was intoxicated. He subsequently arrested Lewis Dwight Donaldson, 62, of Lusby, for Driving Under the Influence.

At the same Sobriety Checkpoint, Cpl. Moschetto later observed a white truck cross the white should line twice. At 10:45 p.m. he activated his emergency equipment and stopped the vehicle in question. After determining that the driver was intoxicated, by conducting field sobriety tests, he arrested Tara Ann Wood, 36, of Lusby, for Driving Under the Influence.

At 11:45 p.m. that same evening, Cpl. Moschetto observed a 2-wheel electric personal mobility device, a Segway, that was barely visible from 50 feet. Additionally, the Segway was “zigzagging” back and forth and abruptly made a right turn. He activated his emergency equipment and made contact with the operator. Cpl. Moschetto conducted several field sobriety tests and determined the operator, Kenneth Robert Langley, 46, of Solomons was intoxicated. Mr. Langley was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
