NAVSEA Indian Head Awards $114M in Contracts


I-Robot Corp., Burlington, Mass., is being awarded a $95,622,500 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity modification to previously awarded contract N00174-03-D-0003, to increase the number of available Man Transportable Robotic System (MTRS) units from 250 (ea) to 1200 (ea). The MTRS is a small robotic system used for remote reconnaissance of unexploded ordnance and improvised explosive devices. Work will be performed in Burlington, Mass., and is expected to be completed by October 2012. Contract funds in the amount of $996,225, will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Indian Head Division, Indian Head, Md., is the contracting activity.

Dell Federal Systems, Round Rock, Texas, was awarded on Sept. 13, 2005, an $18,373,441 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the technical update of the Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal Network (JEODNET), and the initial rollout of four regional gateway nodes. The JEODNET is a tactical, mission critical information system which provides globally distributed information access/sharing, advanced security, and a completely web-service enabled user environment in scenarios where delivery of accurate and timely tactical mission critical knowledge is crucial to the success of a mission. Work will be performed in Indian Head, Md., and is expected to be completed by September 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured and advertised on the Internet, with one offer received.
