Elizabeth Ann Austin Charged With Over $32,000 in Theft From Employer

Officers responded to a St. Mary’s County Plumbing Service for the reported theft. The case was forwarded to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations for follow up investigations. Detectives obtained a Search and Seizure Warrant for a Suspect’s Mechanicsville residence. Once inside, numerous items related to the theft were seized. The Suspect, Elizabeth Ann Austin was taken into custody without incident. Suspect Austin had been an employee of the Victim Business and stole more than $32,000.00 over the last year. Suspect Austin was charged with Theft under $500.00, Theft Over $500.00 and Theft Scheme Over $500.00. She is currently being held in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center to awaiting a District Court Commissioner’s Bond Review. Additional charges are pending a State’s Attorney and Grand Jury review.
