Charles County Crime Reports


RACIAL, RELIGIOUS OR ETHNIC INCIDENT: Sometime between 12 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. on June 20, suspect(s) spray painted racial epithets on the roadway at Sandwich Drive at Sandwich Court in Waldorf and fled the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-932-7777. Officer J. Long is investigating.

THEFT: On June 18 at 11:40 a.m., Officer D. Baker responded to Wal-Mart at 11930 Acton Lane in Waldorf for a shoplifting report. Investigation revealed a 14-year-old boy and two 14-year-old girls, all of Washington D.C., concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying but they were detained by a loss prevention officer. Further investigation revealed the boy and a girl gave false information to the officer. The boy and girl were charged with Theft Less Than $500 and False Statement to a Police Officer. The other girl was charged with Theft Less Than $500. They were released to parents.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On June 15 at 5:25 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Kenneth Court in Indian Head for a domestic assault. Investigation revealed a 37-year-old Indian Head woman assaulted a 41-year-old Indian Head man. The woman was arrested and charged with First- and Second-Degree Assault. She is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Officer J. Thompson investigated.
