Armed Robbery in Lexington Park; Suspect Apprehended by Cops on Foot Patrol


On 06/17/05 DFC Patrick Handy while conducting crime prevention foot patrol in Lex Woods Subdivision, Lexington Park was alerted to a robbery that had just occurred in the Great Mills Court area. DFC Handy and TFC Quade contacted the victims who advised that they had just been robbed by a subject on Radford Lane who fled to LexWood. DFC Handy had observed the suspect run into an apartment. DFC Handy, DFC Eric Walker, DFC Michael Labanowski, Deputy Eva Snyder, Deputy Shaun Carberry and TFC Quade went to the apartment. They eventually gained access and discovered the suspect. Walter Harrison Nelson, Jr, 37 of Lexington Park was charged with Armed Robbery, 1st Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Assault.
