Charles County Sheriff's Office Hosts Eighth Annual Combat Pistol Match

More than 70 law enforcement officers participated in the 8th Annual Combat Pistol Match hosted by the Charles County Sheriff's Office at the St. Charles Sportsmen Club May 21 and 22. During the pistol match, shooters were presented with real life situations for police officers. The competitors were required to shoot on the move and from fixed positions, use cover, conduct tactical reloads and exercise judgment throughout six courses of fire using patrol handguns, rifles and shotguns.

The results of the team competition are as follows:

1st—United States Capital Police, Team A
2nd—Montgomery County Police Department Emergency Services Team
3rd—Virginia Beach Police Department
4th—Charles County Sheriff's Office
5th—Metro Transit Police
6th—Charles County Corrections Division
7th—Montgomery County Police Department, Team 1
8th—United States Capital Police, Team C
9th—Gaithersburg Police Department
10th—Maryland-National Capital Park Police
11th—United States Capital Police, Team B

The individual results are as follows:

A Class

1st place—Phil Strader, United States Capital Police
2nd place—Rob Kamensky, Montgomery County Police Department
3rd place—Jason Stoddard, Charles County Sheriff's Office

B Class

1st place—Will Phillips, Virginia Beach Police Department
2nd place—Brian Milstead, United States Police Department
3rd place—Ed Dix, Montgomery County Police Department

C Class

1st place—Rick Armaghost, Montgomery County Police Department
2nd place—Will Thomas, Montgomery County Police Department
3rd place—Dave Partner, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center
