On June 9 at 9:30 a.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the Charles County Landfill at 12305 Billinsgley Road in Waldorf for the accidental injury report. Investigation revealed the driver of a Ford E450 box truck was attempting to empty trash when the truck struck a 68-year-old La Plata man. The man was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George's General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No charges have been filed. Officer D. Almassy is investigating.
