St. Mary's County Government to Provide Information Booth at County Fair


St. Mary's County Government will be providing a variety or information about the many services and offerings for the public at the St. Mary's County Fair on Friday, September 24, and Saturday, September 25. The County Government Booth will be located outside adjacent to the auditorium.

Departments of County Government will be providing the following information: 2004 State of the County Brochures; Boards, Committees, and Commissions Membership Applications; Frequently Asked Questions about permits process and perk testing; Historic Preservation customer service guides; St. Mary's County Visitors' guides; Recreation, Parks, and Community Services Program Guides; St. Mary's Transit (STS) Schedules; St. Mary's County Government Job Openings and applications; Department of Aging display of services and classes available to seniors; Demonstration and information on the new Emergency Notification System; GIS mapping services; and the opportunity to view a video production entitle "St. Mary's County: Embracing Progress," produced to showcase the County's commitment to the United States Navy and the citizens of St. Mary's County.

In addition, the St. Mary's County Library staff will be issuing library cards to county residents at the County Government Fair Booth. Residents will be able to complete an application and walk away with their very own library card. Information about upcoming library programs will also be available as well as some surprises!

Information about other Department services that will be available at the County fair include Agriculture and Seafood programs, Solid Waste and Recycling programs, and voting machine demonstrations and registration opportunities from the Board of Elections.
