Charles County Sheriff's Office Report for August 25, 2004


BURGLARY: Sometime between August 17 and August 22, suspect(s) forced entry into a residence in the 8800 block of Port Tobacco Road in La Plata, stole jewelry and fled the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-743-2222. Officer J. Crizer is investigating.

BURGLARY: Sometime between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on August 20, two suspects forced entry into three residences in La Plata. The suspects stole a weed eater, money and guns from a residence in the 7800 block of Ann Harbor Drive and stole jewelry from a residence in the 6900 block of Valley Road. The suspects also forced entry into a residence in the 200 block of Port Tobacco Road but fled when the resident confronted them. The suspects are described as two white males in their twenties. One suspect was wearing an orange shirt. The suspects in a 1995 gold Dodge Neon. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-2222. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: Sometime between 11 p.m. on August 19 and 8 a.m. on August 20, suspect(s) attempted to force entry to Top Nails Salon in the 3900 block of St. Charles Parkway in Waldorf. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer C. Long is investigating.

THEFT: On August 24 at 2:30 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to Home Depot in the 12000 block of Jefferson Farm Place in Waldorf for the shoplifting report. Investigation revealed Michael Tharold Drinks, 36, of Cobb Island allegedly concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying. Drinks was detained by a loss prevention officer until officers arrived and arrested him. A subsequent search of Drinks revealed a quantity of marijuana. Drinks was charged with Theft Less Than $500 and Possession of Marijuana. Officer K. Evans investigated.

BURGLARY: On August 24 at 4:38 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 8700 block of Mitchell Road in La Plata for the burglary in progress. Investigation revealed Shane Antoneo Thomas, 28, of Washington D.C. entered the residence, assaulted a 26-year-old woman and fled the scene in a burgundy vehicle. Officers located the vehicle a short time later traveling on northbound Indian Head Highway in the area of Judy Drive in Indian Head. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and attempted to arrest Thomas but he fled on foot. He was located a short time later and arrested. Thomas was charged with Fleeing and Eluding, Second Degree Assault, Third Degree Burglary and other traffic violations and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. THEFT: Sometime between 5:40 p.m. on August 16 and 1:50 p.m. on August 21, suspect(s) stole the rear registration plate from a vehicle parked at Johnny’s Garage in the 4600 block of Indian Head Highway in Indian Head. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-743-2222. Officer R. Snyder is investigating.

THEFT: Sometime between 1:30 p.m. on August 20 and 8 a.m. on August 21, suspect(s) stole a temporary registration plate from a vehicle parked in the 10 block of Oakside Lane in Indian Head. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-743-222. Officer R. Snyder is investigating.

POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE: On August 20 at 12:30 a.m., Officer R. Kimble approached a juvenile on the corner of Thompson Lane and Kenrick Court in Indian Head. Investigation revealed the juvenile, a 17-year-old Indian Head boy, was in possession of a knife and cocaine and had a warrant for his arrest. He was charged with Concealed Deadly Weapon and Possession With Intent to Distribute and served the warrant.

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On August 20 at 6:22 p.m., a Dodge Neon driven by Bonnie Lucele Bazemore, 46, of Waldorf was traveling northbound on Marshall’s Corner Road when it struck a Mitsubishi Eclipse also traveling northbound on Marshall’s Corner Road. The driver of the Eclipse, Kendra Deloris Carroll, 33, of Pomfret, sustained incapacitating injuries and was transported to Civista Medical Center. Bazemore wasn’t injured and investigation revealed she was intoxicated. She was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving While Intoxicated, Unsafe U-turn and Reckless Driving. Officer R. Kimble investigated.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY: On June 13 at 10:18 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 3000 block of Milstead Court in Waldorf for the strong arm robbery. Investigation revealed a 33-year-old Waldorf man was delivering food to the residence when the suspect, who had ordered the food, refused to pay. The suspect stole the food from the driver and fled the scene. During the course of the investigation, the investigating officer developed suspect information that led to the arrest of a 16-year-old Waldorf boy. The boy was charged with Robbery and Theft Less Than $500 and released to his parents pending further action by the Department of Juvenile Justice.
