St. Mary's County Police Report for August 22, 2004


Theft under $500

On 8/21/04 Dfc. S. Clark responded to the reported Theft in Lexington Park, Maryland. Investigation revealed unknown Culprit(s) stole a Craftsman Lawn Mower and a Murray 22 inch push mower from victim Catalina's driveway. The items were left in the driveway while victim went inside the residence. Upon returning victim observed the items had been stolen. Loss valued at $390.00.

Criminal Summons Service

On 8/21/04 Dfc. C.F. Earle located Jessica M. Hernandez, age 20, Lexington Park, Maryland and served her a District Court Criminal Summons for Second Degree Assault. The charge stemmed from an altercation on August 4, 2004 in California, Maryland where suspect Lia Stevenson grabbed Victim Hernandez around the neck and choked her.

Violation of Protective Order

On 8/21/04 Dfc. S. Clark responded to a residence on Columbus Dr., Lexington Park, Maryland for the report of a Violation of an Ex-Parte Order issued in District Court. Investigation revealed Petitioner Mike Gray had allowed his Girlfriend/Respondent, Shirley Grice, to move back into the residence for approximately two weeks. An argument ensued and Ms. Grice left the residence. Petitioner Gray stated he wished to pursue criminal charges against Respondent for violating the ex-parte. Petitioner Gray was advised of the procedures for completing an application for statement of charges through the District Court Commissioners Office.

Possession of Handgun and Marijuana

On 8/22/04 Dfc. M. Labanowski observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of Hunting Meadows Court, Callaway, Maryland. Further investigation by Dfc. Labanowski revealed the operator of the vehicle, John E. Nunley, Jr, age 27, possessed marijuana and a search of his vehicle revealed a .22 Caliber handgun in the back seat of the vehicle. The passenger, Carlos M. Eckerd, age 20, was also charged with possession of suspected marijuana. Both subjects were arrested and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
