Homeland Security Initiative Community Partnership and Awareness Training Offered in St. Marys

Sheriff David D. Zylak extends on behalf of the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, National Sheriffs' Association and the St. Mary's County Chamber of Commerce an invitation to all St. Mary's County Business, Faith, Academic and Professional Communities to attend a special presentation of the course "Weapons of Mass Destruction: Homeland Security Initiative Community Partnership and Awareness Training" in St. Mary's County on Saturday, September 18th, 2004. The course will be held at the J.T. Daugherty Conference Center, 22111 Three Notch Road, Lexington Park, MD 20653 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Business casual attire is encouraged.

The course is designed to acquaint community leaders with the concepts and approaches of community partnerships and how you can mobilize local resources to plan for and respond to a terrorist attack in your community. You will learn how to develop a community resources database and experience response contingencies through an interactive desktop exercise.

Although we are asking you to devote your personal time to this effort, it is very important that you plan to stay for the entire program. We appreciate your willingness to invest in your community by attending this course. Reservations are required to attend. Please contact Ms. Mary Ann Thompson, Executive Coordinator, at (301) 475-4200 ext. 1922 to enroll in the training program.
