St. Mary's County Police Report for July 20, 2004


Sheriff's Office Deputy Sgt. Daniel D. Alioto located and served Sara Helene Delancey with a Criminal Summons for Bad Check. The original Summons was through the Calvert County Sheriff's Office. Suspect Delancey is released awaiting a Preliminary Hearing in that jurisdiction.

Deputy Angela M. Muller located Joseph A. Broome and served a Circuit Court Warrant for Escape First Degree. The Grand Jury Indictment was served and Suspect Broome is awaiting his arraignment.

Sheriff's Office Deputy Richard W. Russell responded to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and served Suspect Steven M. Grove with a warrant for Trespass and Assault Second Degree. Suspect Grove is incarcerated on unrelated domestic charges.

Off Duty Deputy Sgt. Daniel D. Alioto responded to a 911 call for a domestic fight in progress at a Lexington Park residence. Upon arrival the two parties were separated and found to be covered in mud. The two parties, husband and wife, had been involved in a verbal dispute that led to the physical altercation. The fight led to both parties ending on the front yard of the residence and each bit one another, leaving physical signs of injuries. The husband, Christopher Dunn was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. The female half was a juvenile and she was arrested and released back to a parent/guardian to await a hearing in the Juvenile Court. As the investigation had continued it was discovered that there was a Protective Order which ordered Suspect Christopher Dunn to refrain from threatening to abuse or abusing his wife. Suspect Christopher Dunn was charged with Second Degree Assault and Violation of a Protective Order.

Sheriff's Office Deputy Kevin D. Somerville located Charles Huston Boone and served a District Court Failure to Appear Warrant through Calvert County on him. Suspect Boone is currently incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center awaiting a hearing before the District Court for a bond review.

Sheriff's Office Deputy Richard W. Russell served Marvin Leon Young with a Grand Jury Indictment. The Indictment stems from Suspect's actions while Deputies attempted to apprehend him. Sheriff's Office Deputies Richard Russell, Clayton Safford, Todd Fleanor and Sgt. Daniel D. Alioto set up surveillance behind a California establishment for the Suspect and he arrived and parked his vehicle. As uniformed Officers approached, Suspect Young put his vehicle in drive and attempted to flee. He rammed Dfc. Russell's marked Police Unit and he attempted to flee on foot. Suspect Young resisted arrested and was placed into custody. He was charged with First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Property Destruction, resisting arrest and fleeing and eluding. A computer check revealed an outstanding warrant through Prince George's County for Violation of Probation on the original charge of Possession of CDS with intent to distribute. Suspect Young currently has no release date and will have several court dates before a bond can be established.

Deputy Angela M. Muller arrived at the CVS in Lexington Park for the reported theft. It was found that the Juvenile Suspect had stolen a digital disposable camera. The Juvenile Suspect, who is on probation through Juvenile Services, was searched further and found to be in possession of tobacco products as well. The Juvenile was charged with the appropriate charges and released back to his parent.

Sheriff's Office Deputy Richard W. Russell located Suspect Harold N. Rustin of Landover Maryland inside the Giant Store in California Maryland. Suspect Rustin had stole several packs of shaving razors valued at $161.78. He was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center to await a hearing before the District Court Commissioner to have a bail review.

On 07/19/04 at 0100 hours Deputy Eva Snyder and DFC Edward Evans were near the intersection of Rt. 237 and Rt. 235 when they observed a commotion in the parking lot of Hickory Hills Center. When they investigated, it was determined that a gold Mercedes being driven by Charles William Ward of Leonardtown had stopped and that Summer Ventre of Leonardtown had gotten out of the vehicle and was chased down by Joshua Young and forced back into the vehicle. Dep. Snyder's investigation revealed that Joshua Young and Summer Ventre are boyfriend/girlfriend and that he had grabbed her and forced her back into the vehicle after an earlier argument. Joshua Young was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault. DFC Evans had observed the vehicle driving on Chancellors Run Road. The driver Charles Ward had been drinking. He was subsequently arrested and charged with Driving under the influence. A search incident to arrest revealed a marijuana smoking device in the vehicle. He was charged with possession of Marijuana and possession of CDS Paraphernalia.

On 07/19/04 Deputy Eva Snyder served a criminal summons on Donald Raymond Abell for Use of credit card and theft over $500.00. Deputy Snyder had conducted an investigation into a reported theft at Dyson's Lumber. As a result of the investigation it was revealed that the defendant utilized a stolen credit card number to obtain a gasoline powered generator valued at $729.75. Additional Charges pending.

On 07/19/04 DFC Patrick Handy arrested Andrea Sue Wilcox on a Circuit Court Warrant for Failure to Appear in the Circuit Court on 07/09/04.

On 07/19/04 Deputy John J. Kirkner located and arrested Thelma Ann Curtis on an outstanding District Court Warrant for Assault-First Degree.

On 07/19/04 DFC Michael Labanowski responded to Wal Mart for a reported shoplifter. The Loss Prevention Officer advised that he had observed Judith Lorraine Green of Ridge remove an item from the shelf hid it in her purse then attempted to leave the store. She was stopped and the item recovered. Judith Lorraine Green was charged on a criminal citation for theft under $500.00.

On 07/19/04 DFC Stephen Myers served a criminal summons on Christina Rebecca Davis of California for assault second degree. It was alleged that on or about 07/10/04 she assaulted Latoya S. Jordan of Leonardtown in the second degree.

On 07/19/04 DFC Stephen Myers served a criminal summons on Latoya S. Jordan of Leonardtown for assault second degree. It was alleged that on or about 07/10/04 she assaulted Christina Rebecca Davis of California in the second degree.

On 07/19/04 DFC Patrick Handy served a criminal summons on Darlene Michelle Dowsey of Lexington Park for Reckless endangerment. It is alleged by John Otha Dickens that on or about 07/17/04 she thrust a knife at him placing him in fear.

On 07/19/04 DFC Joseph L. Somerville located and arrested Lester Jermaine Johnson of Lexington Park on outstanding warrants form Calvert County. He was transported to Calvert County where the warrants were served for Violation of Probation and CDS.

On 07/19/04 Deputy Eva Snyder and SDFC Diane Thompson arrested and charged Lisa Guy of Mechanicsville with Theft Over $500.00 and Credit Card Offenses. Pursuant to an ongoing investigation conducted by Deputy Snyder, Lisa Guy had stolen a credit card and made numerous purchases at Lowes California. The investigation revealed that she also used another stolen card at the Kohls Store in Waldorf. The investigation to continue for additional charges.

On 07/17/04 DFC Stephen Myers responded to a reported disturbance. Upon arriving it was discovered that Joseph Gerard Denaro of Lexington Park was involved in the disturbance. A wanted check revealed an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear on a Ex Parte violation. Joseph Denaro was incarcerated pending a hearing.

On 07/17/04 DFC Frank Marquart served a warrant on David Wayne Gordon of Waldorf for Failure To Appear in Circuit Court for Child Support. He was incarcerated pending a hearing.

On 07/17/04 DFC Frank Marquart served a warrant on John Otha Dickens for Failure to Appear in Circuit Court for Driving While Suspended . He was held without bong pending a hearing.

On 07/16/04 at 1404 SDFC William E. Hill, SDFC Scott L. McLane, DFC Randall Wood, Department of Natural Resources, Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad, Trooper 7, Calvert Dive Team responded to the Sandgates Pier for a reported subject overboard. The victim, Mark Glenn Stinnette W/M 43 yoa of Huntingtown, Md was found approximately 20 minutes later, pronounced at scene. Next of kin notified by Sgt. Dave Larsen of DNR.

On 07/16/04 DFC Stephen Myers served a warrant on Richard Watson Gray Jr. of Salisbury Md for Bad Checks and Violation of Probation

On 071604 DFC Patrick Handy responded to Lowes Home Improvement Store, California, for a reported theft. The Loss Prevention Officer from Lowes reported that a black Dexter Axle 6' X 12" utility trailer valued at $2,699.00 was stolen on 07/13/04 between 0500 and 1700 hours.

On 07/16/04 DFC Patrick Handy served a criminal summons on Keith Anthony Young of Lexington Park. The criminal information alleges that on or about 07/03/04 Keith Young assaulted Sandy Kim Jones.

On 07/16/04 Deputy Eva Snyder responded to the Apple Bees for a reported theft. Connie Miller advised that suspect Kirk Worthington had asked to borrow her vehicle. Several hours later he still had not returned the vehicle. When he did not return the vehicle in a timely manner the investigation was classified as a stolen motor vehicle.

On 07/16/04 Deputy Snyder responded to Toyota of Southern Maryland for a reported theft. It was reported that two tags were stolen from a vehicle at the Toyota dealership.

On 07/16/04 DFC Michael A. Labanowski arrested Sandra Lee Figeroux of Lexington Park, on an outstanding warrant for Violation of Probation.

On 07/16/04 SDFC Diane Thompson, DFC Emory Johnson, Deputy Jay Kirkner responded to Wicomico Shores to serve several warrants. Upon approaching the residence and not receiving an answer at the front door they went to the back yard. They discovered one of the residents and another person smoking marijuana in a shed behind the residence. SDFC Thompson arrested and charged Mark Thomas Krenzler of Mechanicsville with possession of CDS Marijuana and possession of CDS Paraphernalia

On 07/16/04 DFC Emory Johnson served a criminal summons on Charles Milford Friess of Bushwood. The criminal information alleges he assaulted James K. Raley Sr on or about 05/30/04.

On 07/17/04 DFC Emory Johnson served a criminal summons on William D. Quade of Mechanicsville. The criminal information alleges that on or about 06/28/04 William Quade assaulted Amy Michelle Ward of Callaway.
