Kick Off Party for Alzheimer's Memory Walk set for 28 June


Charlotte Hall, MD - Charlotte Hall Veterans Home is hosting the first annual FREE Kick Off Party for the So MD Alzheimer's Memory Walk on Saturday, June 28th 1-3PM. The public is invited to participate in this event.

The Kick-Off Party will be a family oriented event to include food, festivities, music by BUDDMAN, The Southern MD Sound Barbershop Chorus, US Marine Corps Color Guard, antique plane demonstration, Clydesdale horses, face painting and more! Learn more about the Alzheimer’s Memory Walks, which will take place in all three Southern MD counties on Saturday, September 20, 2003. The Alzheimer’s Association’s goal is to raise over $30,000 for local programs to help caregivers and families throughout Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s Counties.

Guests at the Kick-Off Party on June 28th will be invited to register as a sponsor, an individual walker or as a team for the Memory Walk to be held in the fall. Registration at the Kick-Off has been reduced to $20, which will include a commemorative Walk T-shirt received the day of the Walk. Any team who registers with at least 10 committed walkers on Kick-Off day, will receive a special Alzheimer's Memory Walk polo shirt.

The funds raised through the Memory Walk will provide needed services and programs to Southern Maryland families and caregivers coping with the daily challenges of Alzheimer’s disease such as free individual and family counseling, support groups, funding for research and community education programs on Alzheimer’s issues.
