30th Southern Maryland Celtic Festival and Highland Gathering
On Saturday, April 26, 2008, you and your family are invited to enjoy a celebration of the finest Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Manx, Breton, Cornish, and English heritage replete with parades of bagpipe bands and more than 50 societies and related clans. This one-day event held at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum in St. Leonard, Calvert County, Maryland, provides an opportunity to enjoy the common cultural threads interwoven in the fabric that is the Celtic heritage.
The festival features athletic competitions, music and dance exhibitions, Celtic food and marketplace. This fun-filled day wraps up with the Ceilidh/Ceili (party) in the pavilion offering all an opportunity to learn and participate in various dances with live music as a background.
