DONNA JEANNE BROWN,
June 26, 1951 – January 5, 2022

Wife, Mother and Grandmother lost her long battle with pancreatic cancer on January 5, 2022 at the age of 70 at home with her family by her side in Huntingtown, Maryland.

Donna is survived by her husband Jim Brown, her daughters Nikki Humphreys, Carrie Brown, and Cassie Hayden, her son-in-law's Jason Humphreys, Jeff Grierson and Jeff Hayden, grandsons Tre' Dendy 16, Chase Humphreys 9, Toby Grierson 6, Tyler Humphreys 4, and Carter Hayden 2 and her beloved cats Drake, Eddie and Woody.

Donna was born June 26, 1951 to John and Irene Pyles in Greenville, South Carolina. At age 2 her parents brought her to Palmer Park in Prince Georges County Maryland. At age 15 they moved to Glenridge in Prince Georges County, Maryland. Donna graduated from DuVal High School in 1969. The same year Donna would elope with Jim Brown to Warren County, North Carolina. Donna went to work at Sears accounting department where she started her career as a bookkeeper. Donna and Jim moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina to finish Jim's Army obligation. They returned to Prince Georges County, Maryland in 1971 where they lived for 10 years before children.

In 1981, she became a mother, which would come to be her greatest accomplishment, and that her career would have to wait. Jim and Donna moved to Huntingtown, MD in 1987 to raise their 3 daughters. She re-entered the workforce years later as a waitress at Rod 'N' Reel, became a book keeper for a private firm, was a tax preparer for H&R Block, and retired from the Calvert County Board of Education in 2013 as Head Payroll Clerk.

She and Jim spent their retired days together chasing grand babies and enjoying each other's company.
Please join us in a celebration of her wonderful life at the Prince Frederick Fire Department, Saturday, January 15th at 1:00 pm. We will be gathering to share our favorite memories with a luncheon to follow. This will be an informal gathering so come as you are.
