Jack Berge, formerly of Herald Harbor community in Crownsville, Md. passed away Wednesday November 17th at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. Born March 16, 1928 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to John and Lillian Berge.

Jack was in the United States Navy in the '50's assigned to the USS Rodman. After leaving the Navy, he became a teacher in Montgomery County, Md. He was a true draftsman, teaching his students to be neat and orderly while learning the art of mechanical and architectural drawing with pencil and paper not a computer. He provided his skill outside of school to various companies throughout the Washington Area. Once Jack retired he devoted his time to being around the water, making furniture, decoys and many wooden items for anyone who asked. He was not only an artist that knew how to make beauty shine through wood but a loyal friend to the people around him. There wasn't anything Jack wouldn't do for those he cared about.

May he rest in peace. Thinking again of others, Jack donated his body to the Anatomy Board of Maryland in Baltimore.
