Janice Ann Woodburn Hayden, 88, of Leonardtown, MD went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2021 at home surrounded by her children.
Born June 7, 1932 in Great Mills, MD to the late Dellie Woodburn and Ruth Norris Woodburn. Janice was married for 41 years to the late Walter Vincent Hayden, Sr. whom she married on July 26, 1958 at Holy Face Church, Great Mills.
A lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, she was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown. Janice enjoyed reading books, magazines, and the County Times. Also, The Chronicles of St. Mary's County as she enjoyed studying genealogy of her family and St. Mary's County. She enjoyed music, especially nights at Office on Aging blue grass.
Janice was Salutatorian of her High School class. She worked for the (USPS) Postal Service, family farm business, St. Mary's County Public Schools, and St. Mary's County Farm Bureau before retiring. Janice volunteered at various organizations for 30 years including St. Mary's County Farm Bureau and the Farm Bureau Woman's Committee which during her tenure the committee published "A Brief History of St. Mary's County Farm Bureau 1925 to 2005". She held positions as Women's Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. Also, St. Mary's County Historical Society and Retired and Senior Volunteer (RSVP) Program.
She is survived by her brother Francis Woodburn (Jean) and sister Mary Ruth Bowles; six children: Debbie Griffin (David) of Mechanicsville; Walter Hayden Jr. (Cathy) of Leonardtown; Richard Hayden Sr. (Judy) of Leonardtown; Ellen Hayden of Leonardtown; Cathy Knapp (Greg) of Hollywood; and Joe Hayden (Pratumtong) of Hollywood. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Kim Hayden, Charlotte, NC; Vince Hayden III (Katie) of Hollywood; Michael Hayden (Sarah) of Leonardtown; Jess Shircliffe (Jon) of California; Richard Hayden Jr. of Leonardtown; Jenn Emmart of Mechanicsville; Kyle Hayden of Mechanicsville; and Marissa Knapp of Hollywood and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Janice was predeceased in death by her sister, Erva Mae Woodburn and brother-in-law, Ralph Bowles.

Pallbearers are Vince Hayden, Michael Hayden, Richard Hayden Jr., Jon Shircliffe, Jamie Thomas and Bobby Rowand.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenny Booth, Clem and Agnes Johnson, members of the country blue grass and members of the family Farm employee families.
