Robert Raymond Tyler, 82 of La Plata, Maryland (formerly of Lusby, Maryland) died April 21, 2016 at his residence.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the early 1950's and was of the Catholic faith. He is a retired plant supervisor for 37 years with the United States Postal Service. He was an avid Washington Senators, Washington Nationals, and Redskins fan. He was a power boat owner and lover. He was a good handyman and took pride in finishing his own basement.

He was the son of Robert Raymond Tyler, Sr. and Helen Beulah Gibbons. He was also predeceased by his wife, Ruby Sarah Wood Tyler; his sons, Larry and Wayne Wood; and his daughter, Dorothy Barnett.

He is survived by his sons, Ashby Wood and wife Jenifer, Walter Wood, and Dennis Wood and wife Cheryl; his daughters, Barbara Quade and husband Mike, Carolyn Sater, and Debra Messineo and husband Mike; and his sisters, Mildred Daniels and Annette Carlton. Also survived by 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
