St. George Island is located in the southern part of Maryland in St. Mary's County. The island has a long history, founded in 1634. It was the site of the first battle in Maryland during the Revolutionary War. It is now a community of watermen, full-time residents, and vacation homes. The website is maintained by the St. George Island Improvement Association.
