Summer is the time for fun and adventure. HSMC offers a great outdoor environment for creative learning. Join us for our summer workshops; designed for kids with curious minds, who want to learn a new skill.
What is experimental archaeology? Experimental archaeology is a hands-on way to gather knowledge about how things were made long ago. With limited availability of primary sources, how did Maryland’s first residents use their environment to make tools, shelter, clothing, food, and recreation? Through discussions and hands-on activities using natural resources found in the area, participants in this workshop will try to recreate some techniques of long ago while learning new skills.
