Calvert Hospice is pleased to provide educational seminars to our community. Attendees will learn about topics that impact end-of-life care for patients and their families. Sessions are designed to encourage group discussion. Calvert Hospice will provide refreshments. The seminars are free.

Understanding Advance Directives and the MOLST

Presenters: Marziyeh Viverette, Nurse Practitioner for Palliative Medicine of Southern Maryland and David Sacks, LCSW-C, Palliative Care Coordinator for CalvertHealth

Ms. Viverette and Mr. Sacks will discuss the importance of making decisions about personal preferences regarding medical care and treatments. They will explain the Maryland Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (MOLST) to participants, discuss the meaning of code status, share information about available treatment options, and the required supporting documentation. Please bring your questions!
