Visiting Minister Dr. Diana Davies to deliver “Just Breathe” on Sunday, September 24th at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Chesapeake (UUCC). In UU history, such figures as Michael Servetus, the theologian and philosopher who first described pulmonary circulation, and the discoverer of oxygen, Joseph Priestley stand out. In a way, our faith is based in breath. How can we use conscious breathing as a means and metaphor for our justice work today? How do we breathe so we can give breath to others?
Dr. Diana Davies is a graduate of Meadville Lombard Theological School. She has recently completed a two-year internship at First Unitarian Church of Baltimore. Before entering seminary, Diana had a long career in higher education and international education. She is currently serving as a consultant to Meadville Lombard, helping to build connections to Unitarian, Universalist, and UU congregations around the world.
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Chesapeake meets two Sundays a month at 10:30 am at the Yardley Hills Community Center, 700 Yardley Drive, Prince Frederick MD. Please visit our website: theuucc.org/
