This is a family-friendly event with no dress-code and children under 2 are free.

Parking is available at 200 Duke Street behind the State Building where free shuttle service will be provided by SmartRide. Please plan to utilize this lot and shuttle service as there is very limited parking at the Family Life Center and there will be no parking permitted at Saint John Vianney’s church parking lot (unless you’re attending 5 o’clock mass).

Empty Bowl Suppers are a national movement that began several years ago, in California, by artisans who wanted to raise money for their local homeless shelter. They put together a soup supper complete with food donated by local restaurants. The meal was included with the purchase of a handmade artisan bowl and then all proceeds were donated to their local shelter.

Project ECHO’s Empty Bowl Supper also includes local food, local artists, live entertainment, a silent auction, a live auction, a raffle, and much, much more. This has become an annual community event and we can’t wait to show you what we have in store for you!

Advanced ticket rates are $25 now through April 3rd. Online ticket sales will end at 11:59pm April 5th. If seats are still available tickets can be bought at the door beginning at 4pm on April 6th.

Purchase your tickets online now at www.projectecho.net and pick them up the day of the event at the Will Call table. *Tickets purchased online are not mailed or available for early pickup. If you want tickets in hand ahead of time simply send an email request to ECHOdevelopment@comcast.net.

Great Mills and Lighthouse Productions presents Footloose the Musical!

Directed by Meagan Pugh Musical Direction by Sara Nelson
Music by Tom Snow : Lyrics by Dean Pitchford : Stage Adaptation by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie : Based on the original screenplay by Dean Pitchford : Additional Music by Eric Carmen, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Loggins and Jim Steinman

One of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the live stage with exhilarating results. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise the control over the town's youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend's rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. To the rockin' rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated top 40 score (the soundtrack album reached number one on the Billboard charts and has sold over 15 million copies!) and augmented with dynamic new songs for the stage musical, FOOTLOOSE celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

“Brighton Beach Memoirs” is Neil Simon’s autobiographical portrait of the writer as a young teen in 1937 living with his family in a crowded, lower middle-class Brooklyn walk-up. Eugene Jerome, standing in for the author, is the narrator and central character. Dreaming of baseball and girls, Eugene must cope with the mundane existence of his family life: his formidable mother, overworked father, and worldly older brother Stanley. Throw into the mix his widowed Aunt Blanche, her two young (but rapidly aging) daughters and you have a recipe for hilarity, served up Simon-style. This bittersweet memoir evocatively captures the life of a struggling Jewish household where, as his father states, “if you didn’t have a problem, you wouldn’t be living here.” Tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for seniors, students and military; and $10 for children age 12 and under. All tickets may be purchased online at www.newtowneplayers.org, or by calling 301-737-5447.

Certain Souls is a collection of 8 monologues written by award winning playwright Ken Jaworowski and directed by Jeff Larsen. These monologues take us down an all too familiar path we all seem to face in life; a crossroads, a fork in the road, a time where we must make a decision, but will it be the right decision?
