St. Mary's Association of Model United Nations (SMAMUN) is a simulation of the United Nations where students participate by acting as delegates from various countries, non-governmental agencies, as well as other societal agencies. In doing this, students analyze, evaluate, and synthesize sources as they develop an advanced understanding of the United Nations and contemporary international issues. This educational experience prepares students to become informed and active global citizens.

This event is open to ALL 5th graders, middle school, and high school aged students in St. Mary's County.

The conference is Friday, January 26, 2017 from 4-8pm, and Saturday, January 27 from 9am-3pm.

A one-time $5.00 registration fee for the conference will be collected at the door when you arrive for the conference on Friday, January 26th. The registration fee does not cover the cost of food, which students will have the opportunity to purchase during dinner and lunch breaks.

To register or find out any more information, please go to sites.google.com/smcps.org/social-studies-smcps/student-activities/model-united-nations
