You're invited to SMYOC's Gala, our major fund-raising event of the year on Friday February 16th, at the Holiday Inn Solomons. The Gala will feature Cillian Vallely, an uilleann piper and member of the Irish band Lúnasa, one of the most influential bands in the history of traditional Irish music! Cillian will perform with SMYOC's Youth Orchestra and choirs, making an incredibly exciting, enjoyable and memorable event for everyone involved.
Learn more about Lúnasa at www.lunasa.ie/

Our volunteers have spent countless hours putting together an amazing array of items and experiences for our Silent Auction because they are passionate about our mission and the music made by our students. So far the list includes hotel stays, theme park admissions, adventure experiences, artwork and appliances. There are so many more items that you will love to bid on, and by doing so will help support this amazing, unique experience for our local musicians here in Southern Maryland.

The Maritime Performance Series presents KEN & BRAD KOLODNER QUARTET in the Harms Gallery. Doors open at 6 pm with beer and wine for sale. This dynamic quartet includes Ken Kolodner on hammer dulcimer and fiddle. He has shared the stage with Doc Watson, Alison Krauss, Jeanie Ritchie, John McCutcheon, Jay Ungar & Mollie Mason. Rooted in the traditions of Old-Time music, Baltimore-based clawhammer banjoist Brad Kolodner represents the next generation of Old-Time musicians. Brad performs regularly with his father Ken and with the ground-breaking acoustic roots Irish-old-time-Bluegrass fusion quartet Charm City Junction. Rachel Eddy’s multi-instrumental talents and soulful singing bring an incredibly powerful energy. She performs as a soloist and tours with The Early Mays, and teaches fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, and bass in the U.S. and Europe. Ralph Gordon brings more than 45 years of musical experience to the bass and cello. He is equally at home in folk, old time, swing, jazz, blues, bluegrass, klezmer, chamber group settings and all styles of music for dancers. Sponsored by a matching grant from the MD State Arts Council Maryland Touring Grant. Tickets are $15 online, $20 at the door.
