Anthony Wayne Wilson, 73, of Owings passed away July 15, 2021. He was born October 16, 1947 in Prince George's County to John Neale and Pearl Elizabeth (Baker) Wilson. Wayne was raised on a dairy farm in Landover and attended Mackin High School and Bladensburg High School. He married Betty Donaldson on October 29, 1966 and they lived in Landover until moving to North Beach in 1977. They later moved to Huntingtown and then to Owings, where they have lived for the last 25 years. Wayne was employed as a steamfitter with M&M Welding for many years, retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Steamfitters Union Local 602 and in his spare time he enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, bird watching, nature, and gardening. He was also an avid fan of the Washington Redskins.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife Betty Ann Wilson, children Anthony W. "Tony" Wilson, Jr. of Huntingtown, Holly Meehan and her husband Stephen of Edgewater, and Jeremy Wilson and his wife Inna of Oakton, VA, grandchildren Alyssa, Ryan, Sara, Maria, and Keagan, siblings Neale, Carol, and Mark and beloved cats Charliewilson and Dusty Rose. He was preceded in death by his siblings Danny, Charlie, Kent, Jerry, and his beloved peacock Pete.

William James "Bill" Monroe of Lusby, Maryland died on July 10, 2021 at the age of 73 in Prince Frederick, MD. He was born December 12, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio to Mary Kathryn (Snell) Bottorff and James R. Bottorff.

He enrolled in the U.S. Army at age 18 and served four years in Vietnam. After leaving the Army, he settled in the Washington, D.C. area, where he lived the remainder of his life. He honed his natural skills and made a career as a self-employed contractor performing maintenance, renovations and repairs for homeowners and businesses.

Bill was a caring and kind man who will be remembered for his gregarious and exuberant spirit. He loved dancing, socializing, playing guitar and singing, riding his motorcycle in his younger years, and spending time with friends. His biggest joy in life was making people happy, and he was known for his endless jokes and infectious smile. In his few quiet moments, he loved to lose himself in books.

Bill is survived by his wife, Jeanie Loving of Lusby, Maryland; his daughter, Teresa (Monroe) Kennedy, husband Shaun, and grandchildren, Carson and Annie of Kelso, Washington; his brother, Mark Monroe of Toledo, Ohio; his sister, Amy (Monroe) Andrews of Athens, Georgia; his brother, Andy Monroe and wife Pat of Athens, Georgia; stepdaughter Holly Loving, husband Dave Thompson and grandson Lucian of Alexandria, VA; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Bottorff, his mother, Mary Kathryn (Snell) Vargo; his adoptive father, James Monroe; his father, James Bottorff and his grandson, Patrick Kennedy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 11:00 am at Vera's Restaurant, 1200 White Sands Drive Lusby, MD 20657. Interment will be private. To leave the family a condolence please visit .

Obituary for Richard Anthony "Rick" Rosetta
On July 9th, 2021, the world lost an amazing Soul.
Richard Anthony "Rick" Rosetta, 56, of La Plata, MD died at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
Rick was born on August 7, 1964 in Washington DC, to the late Lawrence Charles Rosetta and Beth Gicker.

Rick was the owner/operator of All Systems for the past 20+ years. He also had a love of all genres of music, which led to him create a DJ service, "Quick Silver". His DJ'ing was quite the show including lights, music, and even a disco ball! He also had a love of traveling, cars, and was an avid motorcycle rider.

If Rick set his mind to something, there was no effort he would spare to figure out how to accomplish his goal or task. He was a very loyal man and helped anyone he could, friend or foe. Rick was very social, enjoyed cooking for others and making sure everyone ate.

Rick loved his family, children and fur babies, always putting his loved ones above everything else.
In addition to his wife, Flora, he is survived by sons; Anthony Joseph "AJ" Rosetta (Ashley), and Sean Radchenko, daughter, Simona Radchenko, his mother Beth Furman, his "Pop" Hugh Furman, brother, Michael Rosetta (Angie), sister, Grace Danielle Meek (Ray) --and, of course, his fur babies; Zeus, Apollo, Muddie and Mia, as well as many extended family members.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Corbett, Marlene Elizabeth

Marlene Elizabeth Corbett, 79, of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away peacefully July 13, 2021.

Marlene was born on March 7, 1942 in Hagerstown, Maryland to Justine and George Walker. She later found herself residing in Sacramento, California where she established her family with husband, Warren Corbett. She worked many years for the Federal Government, eventually retiring from the Department of Justice. She was an avid gardener who greatly enjoyed growing and harvesting tomatoes, roses, and a variety of flowers. In her earlier years, she loved playing billiards, listening to music, and caring for her precious fur-baby's. Marlene eventually settled in Waldorf after migrating back to Maryland. There she spent her final days enjoying her retirement surrounded by her family and friends.

Marlene is survived by her niece, Dawn Corbett-Ryce; great niece, Ashlie Curtin; great nephew, Arys Corbett; friends, Diane Gunther, Pam Posey, and Betty Schaefer; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Warren Gamelio Corbett; brother, George Walker Jr.; and her beloved fur-baby's, Honeybun, Shasta Willie, Xina and Ms. Kitty.

Marlene was a kind and classy lady who will truly be missed.

Moore, Derek James

Derek James Moore, 62, of Nanjemoy, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 10, 2021.

Born on June 5, 1959 in Washington, DC, he is the son of James Moore and Martha Burke. Raised in Bryson City, North Carolina near the Smoky Mountains, Derek loved to explore nature, hunting & fishing and his Cherokee heritage. He credited his uncles, Henry, Harry and Don for teaching him all about the outdoors.

Derek spent his 35 year career as a plumber and a member of the DC Plumbers Union Local 5. Derek enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on the family farm. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching DC sports, especially the Washington Redskins.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Stephanie; son Christopher, daughter Caitlin and her fiancée Nick Davis.

A visitation will be at held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 3PM, with a service to follow at 4PM.

Visitation and service will be held at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646 with Reverend Mark Roberson. A private interment will be held at a later date.
