Willa Mae Buckmaster was born on May 6, 1927 in Unico, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late George & Cordia Jones. The family moved to Maryland and resided in Calvert County. Willa resided in Charles County, Md. since 1960 with her late husband Herbert A. Buckmaster.

Willa was a stay at home mother, who devoted her time to raising her three children. During that time she did some substitute teaching at Hughesville Elementary School. Both, Herbert & her were very involved in their church, Grace Lutheran, in La Plata, Md. . Their family was one of the original 13 families that started Grace Lutheran Church.

Willa loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always available to assist in helping with their needs. She had a great love for flowers and spent hours gardening.

She came from a large family of six children, proceeded in death by her brother Joseph Jones (Ethel), her surviving siblings, Robert Jones (Janice), Robbie Jones (Aiko, Evelyn Byrd (the late Norman Byrd), and Julius Jones (Linda).

Children: John Buckmaster Sr.(Betsy), Linda Cook (John),& Terry Harvey (Donny)

Grandchildren: Diane Blades (Gerald), Rick Raley (Crystal), Mary Eitel (Mark) , John Buckmaster Jr.(, Meg Grove (Scott), Jay Estevez, Dennis Raley (Autumn)

Great-grandchildren: Vicki, Mandi, & Jamie Blades, Tony & Preston Estevez, Will & Morgan Grove, Candice, Cameryn,Cylee, Christian, Caylin, Hailey, & Shay Raley, Eric Eitel, Evelyn & Charlotte Buckmaster.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 5th from 6 to 8 PM at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata, MD. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6th, 10 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church, La Plata, MD. Interment to follow at the Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
