James Leo Sisson of White Plains, Maryland died on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at his home. He was 65 years old. Born on July 28, 1949 in La Plata, MD he was the son of the late Lucile Donahue Sisson and the late Elbert R. Sisson.
Jimmy was a graduate of Lackey High School and attended the Charles County Community College. He was a welder and fabricator by trade, and belonged to the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 77. Jimmy recently worked as a heavy equipment mechanic with Lane Corporation. He would also work on the vehicles of family and friends in his spare time. Jimmy had a love for autos that extended out to his drag racing at Budd's Creek and also found great enjoyment in all facets of auto racing. He was a well-known master story teller who could entertain his family and many friends for hours. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his twin brother Fred Sisson, his brother Mark Sisson, and his sister Maura Sisson. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nancy Reynolds Sisson; his son Francis E. Sisson and his "daughter-in-love" Erica Weaver; daughter Christine Sisson Johnson; his granddaughters Kayla Johnson and Emily Johnson; his siblings Richard Sisson and wife Marybeth, Bridget Sisson and her husband Oren Swain, Clare Barrow and her husband Ted, Grace Griffith and her husband Patrick Holmes, Michael Sisson, and Joe Sisson and his love, Janet Silverman. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 2PM until 5PM with a time of remembrance beginning at 3PM at the Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.
