Smith, Rosita Lethia (Age 57) of Fort Washington, Maryland formerly of Indian Head, Maryland.

Rosita Lethia Smith, daughter of William Smith and Velma Smith was born on November 12, 1956 in Washington, DC. She departed this earthly life on July 20, 2014 at her residence.

She was baptized at an early age at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Marbury, Maryland. She graduated from Lackey High School in 1974. After graduation, she went to Computer Learning Center in Fairfax, Virginia in 1975 where she received a diploma. In 1984, she earned a Computer Operator Certificate from Charles County Community College. She received her Associates of Art Degree in Computer Data Processing in 1986 from CCCC.

She was employed with the Federal Government in Alexandria, Virginia from 1976 until she retired in 2011. During her employment, she held many positions. She also received numerous awards as well.

Her favorite past times were reading, watching soap operas, game shows, puzzle games, and playing games on the computer. She enjoyed going to see plays at the Warner Theater with family and friends. In fact, the last one she went to see was just this past May. She enjoyed spending holidays with her family and friends. Every year on New Year's Day, she along with her sisters and mother would host dinner for family and friends. Her favorite football team was the "The Washington Redskins".

Rosita leaves to mourn and to cherish precious memories, her mother, Velma, her father, William (Gonnie), her brother, Dwayne Smith (wife Cheryl), her sisters, Sandra Smith (Bruce) and Veljean Thompson (husband James), a niece, Dartysha Queen (Tysha), a nephew, Dwayne (DJ) Smith, a great-nephew, Jaydon Queen, a great-niece/Goddaughter, Jayla Helland, Godson, Kiante Chase, Mike and Cherie, who were like a brother and sister, aunts, uncles, relatives, and a host of other family and friends.

Viewing 10 a.m. until time of Service, 11 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2014, in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland. Interment, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Marbury, Maryland.
