Mary Isabel Shasho of La Plata, Md died on June 12, 2014 at her residence. She was 62 years old. Born on February 27, 1952 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Sequnda DeNavas and the late Joseph DeNavas.
Mary was a wonderful friend to all. She helped start the Charles County Police Explorers. She was one of the first women in commercial real estate in our area. In her real estate career, she helped many fulfill their dreams and she would always send out cards to friends and clients to remind them about the daylight savings time change. She was a volunteer in many non-profit organizations and a member of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce, Southern MD Association of Realtors, MD Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. She was a Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout leader and was in Kiwanis. She was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pomfret. Her love is her grandchildren and her husband. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 41 years, Harry Shasho; her son Christopher Shasho , daughter Teresa Shasho-Clark; and grandchildren Charis Shasho , Anthony Clark, Jack Shasho, Isabell Rubio; her sisters Carmen DeNavas and Linda Keska; her brother Joseph DeNavas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 4PM to 8PM with Prayers at 7PM and on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 10AM until time of Mass at 11AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pomfret, MD with Father Harry Stokes officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
