Mr. Coomes was a warehouse manager for twenty five years for St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, D.C. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Marbury Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing the guitar with his Charles County friends and being with his grandchildren.

Son of the late Alious Coomes and the late Agnes Pickeral Coomes. Predeceased by his parents, and one sister, Mary Coomes Tayman.

Survived by his wife, Juanita Mathews Coomes, two daughters, Patricia (Jason) Redding of Haymarket, Va., and Tammy Ryman of Marbury, Md., one son, Timothy Ryman of Arizona, two sisters, Marion Jenkins and Catherine Jenkins, both of Bryans Road, Md., and grandfather of Kristy and Tiffany Ryman and Alexandra and Jason Redding.

Visitation on Monday, February 25, 2008 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Md.

Funeral Service on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 11am at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Clergy will be Rev. Tim Bean. Pallbearers will be Randy Rogers, Randy Daniels, Jack Mathews, Joe Skinner, Henry Jenkins, and Daniel Cockerham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rich Lambdin, Justin Danielson, and the United States Army Honor Guard.

Interment at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, Md.
