Richard John Nehl, of La Plata, MD died on May 29, 2014 at his residence. He was 64 years old.

Mr. Nehl was a safety program manager with the FAA – U.S. Government. He was also a flight instructor and pilot. He loved sailing and was an amateur golfer. In earlier years, he was a pee wee coach for his sons in soccer.

He is the son of the late Carl Nehl and the late Catherine Sauer Nehl. He is survived by four sons, James Patrick Nehl and his wife Angela Acton-Nehl, Kevin Eric Nehl, Gregory Edward Nehl, and Dennis Martin Nehl; two brothers, Fred and Steven Nehl; and one grandson, Maximus Michael Nehl.

Friends received on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 5-8PM at the Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646 and where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10AM. Interment will be private.
