John Francis Brooks, Jr., 49 of Lexington Park, MD passed away on May 16, 2014 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital. Born April 21, 1965, in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of the late John Francis Brooks, Sr. and Helen Patricia (Barnes) Brooks.

John worked as a truck driver for Quality Transfer and Storage. He enjoyed playing cards and the game of horseshoes. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

In addition to his mother, John is survived by his children, Terrence and Dominique Queen, and Steven Douglas, all of Lexington Park, MD; siblings, Morris Francis Gant, of Indian Head, MD, James Gant, of Bryantown, MD, Alice Gant, of Waldorf, MD, June Gant, of Newburg, MD, Timothy Brooks, of Great Mills, MD, David Brooks, Michael Brooks, Charles Brooks, Patricia Thomas, and Catherine Rouse, all of Lexington Park, MD; and six grandchildren.

Family will receive friends for John's Visitation on Monday, May 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with prayers recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Mechanicsville, MD 20659.
