Barney Clark "BC" King, 75, of Hughesville, MD passed away on May 5, 2014 at Calvert Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on May 20, 1938 in Dermott, AR to the late Oden Clark King and the late Reba "Fern" (Ogilvie) King.
Barney joined the Army at the age of 20 and served for three years in the rank of Specialist 4th class and worked as a generator operator with the Nike Missle Battery at Travis Air Force Base, CA. After leaving the Army, he worked as a stockbroker for a short time before entering his life long career in auto electric repair. In 1973, Barney and his family moved to Hughesville, MD and he opened his own business, All American Auto Electric. Barney owned and operated his business until he became ill in 2006 and retired. Barney loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping. He also loved to travel and go on hunting and fishing trips with his best buddies and camping trips with his family. He loved going back to Harmony, Arkansas where he grew up and had so many fond memories. In addition to his parents, Barney was predeceased by his brother, Edward King. Barney is survived by his wife, Evelyn B. "Traci" King; Sons, Clark G. King and Scott B. King; Daughter, Duchene K. "Shane" Burch (Christopher); sister, Barbara McHenry; and five grandchildren, Megan Hess, Ryan Burch, Justin Burch, Kaitlyn Burch, and Brooke King. Family and friends will be received for Barney's Life Celebration on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with American Legion Prayers, at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Service will begin at 7:00 PM on Monday, here at the funeral home. Rev. James Chance will officiate. Inurnment will be held in Harmony, Arkansas, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to: American Legion, Post #238, P.O.
