Cecil R. Smith, Sr. of Waldorf, Maryland passed away on May 1, 2014 at the age of 87.

Cecil worked for David Taylor Model Basin as the Welding Supervisor.

On his off time he enjoyed doing wood working and occasionally he would go out hunting.

Cecil is preceded in death by his loving wife Joan and son Cecil Ray Smith, Jr. He is survived by his granddaughter Melissa Proctor (Daryl); daughter in law Madra Thomas; other grandchildren Phillip Thomas (Jessica) and Brittany Thomas; five great grandchildren Chelsey, Lexy, Emma, Nicolas and Dylan; and son in law Donald Thomas.

A visitation will be held at the Huntt Funeral Home Waldorf, Maryland on Monday May 5, 2014 from 10am to noon, where the funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens Waldorf, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G St. NW #700, Washington, DC 20005.
