Joseph Eugene "Gene" Talley, Sr. of Waldorf, MD died on April 20, 2014 at his residence with Hospice. He was 90 years old.

Gene was the owner/operator of Talley Jewelry Store in Waldorf, MD since 1956 and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Waldorf where he served on the Methodist Men's Board. He was a charter member of the Waldorf Rescue Squad where he served as their first Treasurer. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. He enjoyed model trains and historical guns from the Civil War and the old west.

He is the son of the late Joseph Robinson Talley and the late Saida Wall Talley. He is also predeceased by his wife, Joyce Dodson Talley.

He is survived by four sons, Eugene Talley and his wife Susanne, Larry Talley and his wife Janice, Douglas Talley and his wife Linda, and Ronnie Talley; and one sister, Emily Anne Welch. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Friends received on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with prayers at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD. Funeral Service on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11AM at Calvary United Methodist Church, 3235 Leonardtown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601. Interment at Oakland Cemetery, Berry Road, Waldorf, MD.
