Mr. Greer was the first born child of Joseph C., Sr. And Katie Mae Greer He was born and raised in Welcome, Md. With his three siblings. He married Florence "Jean" on October 15, 1946 at St. John's Catholic Church in Clinton, Md. They built their home in Welcome on the family farm where they raised their two daughters. He retired after forty years of service as a foreman for the State Highway Administration. He loved spending time with is family and friends. He enjoyed working on the farm, tending his garden, and hunting with his dogs.

Son of the late Joseph C. Greer, Sr. and Katie Mae Posey Greer.

Predeceased by his parents, one sister, Geraldine Greer and one son, Joseph C. Greer III.

Survived by his wife of 61 years, Florence Jean Edelen Greer, two daughters, Geraldine Munson of New Orleans, La., and Jody (Frank) Wathen of La Plata, Maryland. Also survived by three sisters, Bernice Young ,Joyce Irwin, and Beverly (George) Ryan, 5 grandchildren, Jessica and Jimmy Cooksey, Kristin Greer, Thomas
and Michael Munson.

Visitation on Monday, February 18, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Md.

Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 10am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Newport, Md.

Clergy will be Monsignor Oliver McGready. Interment at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, Md. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Cooksey, Steve Austin, Alec Edelen, Joey Edelen, Dean Irwin, and Lester Thompson.
