Claude Henry Humbert, age 83, of Charlotte Hall, Maryland peacefully passed away January 3, 2014 after a short illness. Born February 1, 1930 in Mayberry, MD he was the son of the late Mary Flickinger Humbert and Charles Henry Humbert.

He was preceded in death by Anna Sherrill (Sherry) Keane Humbert, his wife of 47 years.

He was retired from Blake Construction Company and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America-Local 1590. He served as a Seabee in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. He was a master Mason, Almas Temple Shriner, Kallipolis Grotto member and a Commandery of Knights Templar. He was a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Waldorf Elks, and Waldorf Lions Clubs. He was a member of the Greater Waldorf Jaycees, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and American Legion Post 238.

He is survived by his son Claude (Bud) Humbert II & his wife Becky, son Aubrey (Bronco) Humbert & wife Mary, son Chester (Bucky )Humbert & wife Kimberley, Grandsons Claude (Trey) Humbert III, Chester Humbert II & wife Cheslee, and Daniel Humbert. Granddaughters Charity Eyler & Amanda Celentano & Great-grandchildren Madeline & Andrew McCoy. He is also survived by his sister Julia McDade & husband Donald, & sister Helen Cantley & husband Royce.

He is predeceased by brothers Charles & Kenneth and sisters Jennabel Switzer, Marian Martin, & Mary Humbert.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home with interment immediately following at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
