Leslie Eugene Davies, "Gene" died unexpectedly on December 17, 2013 at his home in Issue, MD.

He was a realtor, insurance agent and certified property appraiser for 50+ years with County Services, Inc.

He is survived by his wife Gloria Davies of 60 years, 9 children: Leslie (Larry) Hilliard, Christopher (Brenda) Davies, Sharon (Lee) Flick, Gregory (Darlene) Davies, Carol (Adam)Frank, Theresa (James) Hill, Loraine (Lou)Hennessy, Victoria Davies, Peter Davies, 18 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and his brother Neal Davies.

He was predeceased by his daughter Charlotte, brother, Harry Davies and sister, Eileen Bucher.

Gene was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Harry F. Davies of Upper Marlboro, MD. He was a graduate of Charlotte Hall Military Academy, a World War II veteran of the US army of Occupation in Japan and a graduate from the University of Maryland earning a BA, American University - Law and Appraising, University of Washington - Psychology, Economics, University of Miami - Insurance Management, Graduate of Realtor Institute of Maryland.

He was a lifelong Democrat and served on the Central Committee for 19 years. He was a founding member of the Southern Maryland Board of Realtors and the John F. Kennedy Council Knights of Columbus. Member of the Southern Maryland Board of Realtors, Past president of the Realtors Land Institute, Maryland and National Assoc. of Realtors, Western Charles Business Assoc., Charles County Chamber of Commerce, a life member of American Legion, Lions International, VFW and Knights of Columbus, member of Amvets, Izaak Walton League, Elks, Maryland and Charles Historical Society, the Fourth and Fifth Democratic Club, the Western Democratic Club and the Northern Democratic Club of Charles County, Phi Sigma Kappa, Alpha Phi Omega, NAACP, the Arts Alliance, Master of the Bryans Road Grange, a Boy Scout leader, and an usher at Holy Ghost Church.

Gene was most proud of his family and being a democrat.

Services will be held December 27th at Holy Ghost Church, Issue, MD at 11:00 am followed by a repast at the American Legion, La Plata. Burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice in memory if Gene Davies. Arrangements provided by Brinsfield Funeral Home.
