Wade Leon Coates, 70, of Waldorf, MD formerly of Suitland, MD passed away December 1, 2013 at Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, MD. Born April 16, 1943 in Campobello, SC, he was the son of Wayne S. Coates and Lyda McElrath Coates.

Wade was a carpenter and had his own business, Wade L. Coates General Repairs.

He loved cars and spent many hours in his garage working on them. He was a member of the Southern Knights Rod and Custom Car Club, the Tri-County Cruisers and the Southern Maryland Model A Club.He loved westerns, telling jokes and being with his family and friends. A special joy was his grandchildren and attending their activities.

Wade was predeceased by his parents, son Timothy Wade Coates; brothers, Paul Coates and Tommy Coates and sister, Doris Wildbore.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Loy Randolph Coates; children, Belinda L. Billman (David), Michael David Coates (Laura) and honorary son, Kenny Baker; brothers, James Coates (Nan) and Bobby Coates; brother-in-law, Eddie Wildbore; grandchildren, Matthew D. Billman, Ryan T. Billman, Breanna E. Coates and Sean M. Coates.

The family will receive friends for Wade's Life Celebration on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols. Pastor Rick Dove will officiate. Interment will be private.
