Barbara Ann Saavedra, 85, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on November 21, 2013 at Hospice House of St. Mary's in Callaway, MD. She was born on January 24, 1928 in New Rochelle, NY to the late Frederick Irving Baughan and the late Elsa (Wolff) Baughan.

Barbara was a homemaker, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed golfing and tennis, gardening, music, and singing. She received her high school diploma in 1946, where she was voted Queen of the Prom. She was a very thoughtful and giving woman, always willing to be helpful to others. She will always be remembered for her gift of love and laughter.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her two sisters, Gloria Wolf and Carol Addis.

Barbara is survived by her husband of sixty five years, Albert "Alby" Saavedra; her three children, Steven Saavedra, Gail Blakely (Blake), and Alan Saavedra (Penny); three grandchildren, Shawn, Amy, and David; one great grandchild, Rowan; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
