Asa Miguel Hernandez, 26, was escorted into Abba Father's bosom on Sunday, November 17, 2013. Asa was born on July 26, 1987 in Miami, FL to Vanessa A. (Currie) Warren and the late Alejandro Hernandez.

He was raised by his dad, Major Warren Jr., and mother in District Heights, MD after the family relocated from Miami when he was four. He was educated in Prince George's County Public Schools and graduated from Suitland High School in 2005. A short time later, he attended Tesst College where he earned a degree in Computer Science.

Asa worked as an Information Technology Technician at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center.

He enjoyed traveling, gaming (especially with his nephews), and fixing gadgets. He was also a music enthusiast. On any given day, he could be heard singing his favorite tunes. Although Asa was a young man, his impact was astounding. He was very close to his family and was a faithful friend. He loved being an uncle, big cousin, and spending time with his close friends. It never took him long to know and connect with those in his neighborhood and surrounding communities.

He was cloaked with a pastoral mantle, which was evident through his passionate love for people and the spirit of counsel that was upon him. His mom recalls how she found him baptizing kids in the neighborhood creek when he was only 11 years old. She also recalls one of Asa's favorite sayings, "Let Go and Let God, Ma!" It can be said that Asa, like David, served his generation well.

Asa leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Major Jr. and Vanessa; brothers, Lamont, Major III (Nichelle), and Markez; seven beloved nephews, Benjamin, Brian, Joshua, Justin, James, Josiah, and Blake; two nieces, Mattie and Breanna; grandmother, Virginia Currie; uncles, Warren, Willis, Wayne, and Wyatt; aunts, Cassandra (Currie) Owens, Gladys Hernandez; close friends, Aaron, TJ, Michael, Cordell, Eric; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Asa, a beacon of his time, will forever be missed.
