Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 10:30 AM in St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 47950 Mattapony Road, St. Mary's City, MD 20686 with Fr. Damian Shadwell officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Dameron, MD.

Joseph Francis Flanagan, 91 of Manassas, VA, MD died January 25, 2008 at his daughter's home in Los Altos Hills, CA. Born June 14, 1916 in Springfield, OH, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Flanagan. He was the husband of the late Yvette Flanagan, who preceded him in death in July of 1986.

He is survived by his three children, Cristine Goodman and her husband Bill of Los Altos Hills, CA, Craig Flanagan and his wife Rachel of Manassas, VA and Terrence Flanagan and his wife Elaine of Lexington Park, MD. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; Bonnie, Bill, Christie, Suzie, Allison, Frank, Casey, Denise, Laura and Christine and seven great-grandchildren; Sarah, Courtney, Marcus, Layne, Lyndsay, Madelyn and Caroline.

He was preceded in death by his brother Fr. Francis Flanagan and his sister Margaret Gibbons.

He served in the United States Navy during the Second World War and then went to work for the Government Printing Office.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in St. Mary's City, MD on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 10:30 AM with interment immediately following.
