James Richard Burch, Sr., 73, of Newburg, MD passed away on September 27, 2013 at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. Born on January 31, 1940 in Hollywood, MD to the late Joseph M. Burch and Bertha M. (Knott) Burch. He is also preceded in death by his Sisters; Bertha M. Stansbury, and Mary C. Dean.

He is survived by his Wife; Gladys E. Burch. Sons; James R. Burch, Jr., John, A. Burch, and Michael W. Burch. Daughter; Sherry A. Burch Smith (Kenny). Step-Sons; Tommy Mace (Jan), David Mace (Mae), and Mark Mace (Melissa). 11 Grandchildren. 3 Great-Grandchildren and 1 special neighbor child. Brothers; Joseph Burch, Leonard Burch, and Johnny Burch. Sisters; Agnes Wedding, Shirley Thomas, Elaine Wenk, Betty St Clair, and Sue Little.

James enjoyed working on the River, spending time with his Sons, Gardening, the Outdoors, Hunting, and Fishing.

A viewing will take place on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. in La Plata, MD. A Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 10 am at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church-Chapel Point. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD.
