Marjorie K. "Margie" Sterling of White Plains, MD died on September 25, 2013 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. She was 83 years old.
Margie was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pomfret, MD. She loved family holiday celebrations, playing cards, gin & tonic, and eating crabs. Johnny Cash was her honey and Daudie was her sweetheart. She is the daughter of the late Elias Edward Oliver and the late Sally (Lyon) Oliver. She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Hugh Dalton Sterling. Also predeceased by other cherished family members, Annie and Mushaw Lyon, Eugene and Thelma Lyon, her brother Edward H. Oliver and sister, Mary Goddard. She is survived by three sons, Joseph Sterling, Fred Sterling, and Frank Sterling; two daughters, Diane Morgan (Ray) and Michele Pence; three brothers, Luke William Oliver, Elias Oliver, and Roger Lee Oliver; two sisters, Sally C. Thompson (Hoover) and Peggy Drinks (Joe); and 13 grandchildren, including Courtney and Richard Pence. Friends received on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 5-8PM with a Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 10AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph Way, Pomfret, MD 20675. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
