Lula Aurilee Maddox, 86 of California, MD died on January 15, 2008 at Washington Hospital Center. Born April 28, 1921 in Indian Head, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Elise Willett.

Mrs. Maddox was a graduate of La Plata High School. She went to work at Patuxent River Naval Air Base in 1945 and retired in 1979.

Mrs. Maddox was a member of the St. Mary's County Arts Guild, St. Mary's County Quilting Group, Order of the Eastern Star Julia Hall Chapter #107, the Hollywood Bible Study Group, Meals on Wheels, NARF and past president of the Christian Women's Society.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, the late Russell A. Maddox, her brother Guy Willett and sister Evelyn Abell.

She is survived by her daughter's; Elaine Fry of California, MD and Karen Boone-Roberts of Great Mills, MD one sister; Alberta Murphy of Auburn, Maine, three grandchildren Tim Fry, Shawn Fry and Shannon Boone and one great grandchild Leigha Fry.

The family will receive friends for a Life Celebration on Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 2pm to 6pm in the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. Charlotte Hall, MD with prayers at 5pm. Services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 11am in Hollywood United Methodist Church with Reverend Sheldon Reese officiating. Interment will follow in Joy Chapel Cemetery, Hollywood, MD.
