Lois Sharon Edwards (Sherry, aka Grandma), 65, of Mechanicsville, MD and formerly of Morningside, MD passed away on September 10, 2013 at her residence. She was born on January 22, 1948 in Washington, DC, daughter of Doctor Marvin Green of Washington, DC and the late Geraldine Lois (Mulvey) Green.

Sherry worked for Wentworth Nursery and though she didn't have a "green thumb", she enjoyed working in her yard. Sherry enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, going to yard sales, the beach, and doing anything that involved being in or near the water.

In addition to her mom, Sherry was predeceased by one her sons, Steven Michael Edwards; and one of her brothers, Ned Newman.

Sherry is survived by her husband of 47 years, Stanley R. Edwards; her dad, Doctor Marvin Green; her son, Stanley Richard Edwards (Becky); brothers, Larry Newman (Brenda) and Rick Newman (Linda); sisters, Sandy Rosemond (William) and Dianne Rison; mother-in-law, Charlotte Edwards; sister-in-law, Maria Newman; 4 grandchildren, Ashley, Casey, Krystal, and Stanley; 5 great grandchildren, Lexy, Alyssa, Anthony, Haleigh, and Mark; and her pet "Chevy".

Family and friends will be received for Sherry's Life Celebration on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Service will begin at 7:00 PM at the funeral home on Friday. Pastor Dennis Gilkin will officiate.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made in Sherry's memory to Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, 29449 Charlotte Hall Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
